This lovely intimate class is the beginners dream to sourdough bread baking. Many many folks, as evidenced by the pandemic, went into sourdough baking without understanding the fundamentals of what sourdough is, does, and the whys of techniques etcs. This class gives you all of that so that you can really bake the best most consistent loaves at home.
Things covered: understanding sourdough starters (how, why, when) and natural fermentation, tools for at home baking, formulas for starters and loaves, keeping starters alive and healthy, and in depth question answering!
Each guest will go home with recipes + instructions, a loaf of bread, and a sample of sourdough starter.
This class is REQUIRED to do our Sourdough Part 2 Class…
We will provide Wine + NA drinks from Elemental Spirits + Zero Co. We will also provide a light grazing board.
Parking for class attendees is available in the shop (for free) to the side of the old highland inn (I believe they charge there and are more strict), and ample free parking on Blue Ridge and the surrounding neighborhood.
Unfortunately, there are no refunds for classes. We purchase ingredients, wine, everything in advance and with refunding we lose time and money having to schedule people in the class… With 48 hours in advance notice, we are able to give you a 50% credit on another class, but again, please understand that we have to fill these seats to make it work. Thank you!
