About
Colette is a rustic neighborhood bakery in Poncey-Highland, Atlanta. We make naturally fermented sourdough, small-batch pastry, and the kind of food that feels good to eat — nourishing, a little nostalgic, made from scratch every day.
The Story
Owner Sarah Dodge spent a decade baking in Atlanta before Colette existed. She worked at Holeman & Finch, Little Tart, and 8Arm, learning from some of the best kitchens in the city. In 2018 she launched Bread is Good — a local delivery and wholesale operation that grew faster than she expected, fueled by a community that showed up for good bread.
In 2022 she opened Colette at 636 North Highland Ave. She named it after the French novelist Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette — a woman who lived on her own terms and didn't apologize for it.
Wholesale + Neighborhood
Colette operates as a wholesale bakery and a retail shop. By the time the doors open at 8am (Tuesday - Sunday), we've already baked for coffee shops and restaurants across the city. What's left on the shelf is yours — and it changes daily. Come early. Sell-outs are real.
Community is the Point
Sarah has always believed small businesses thrive when they're rooted in their community. That means sourcing local where we can — eggs, produce, flour, coffee — and showing up for the neighborhood that showed up for us first. Bread, she's said, has always been a microcosm of community. We take that seriously.
